Why one ranking number is misleading
Most rank trackers give you a single position for a keyword. Local search does not work that way. Google weighs proximity heavily in the map pack, so your position changes with every block the searcher moves.
A grid scan is the honest version. It samples your position across a wide area and shows the shape of your visibility: strong near the office, fading with distance, or absent entirely. That shape tells you whether you have a Google Business Profile problem, a reviews problem, or a content problem.
